Fixing Update Errors
If you get "An error occured during the update process", please click here. And/or, if you think you have a virus attack, please click here.
Updates are known to fail if your system requirements are not met. Please follow below steps if your system meets requirements for CA installation.
- Please disable your firewall if you have one (note that CA Personal Firewall will not block CA updates).
If your CA updates happen with your firewall disabled, find out from your firewall vendor as to how you can add the following websites to the firewall's exception list: http://consumerdownloads.ca.com/ http://etrustdownloads.ca.com/
- If your computer is behind a proxy, you will have to enter these proxy values into CA software too.
- To remove any conflicting software, disable all non-CA startups, restart your computer and try to update.
- If the above 3 steps did not work, please redownload a fresh copy of CA from your welcome e-mail and install the latest stable product with your license key.
This will prevent recurrence of this problem. For more information...
