Changing the Administrator Password

If you are not the computer administrator who installed CA Parental Controls, please take help from the administrator to help you with guidelines below. For instance, if you had CA Parental Controls preloaded on your computer with a password, you will have to contact the point of purchase for further help.

1. Right-click the CA Internet Security Suite shield icon in the system tray and select CA Parental Controls > Reset Administrator Password.
2. Enter the Administrator Email Address and the Security Code that you provided while installing the CA Parental Controls software and click OK.
Note: If you have forgotten the Administrator Security Code, enter the Administrator Email Address and any security code which is at least 6 characters long and click OK. This will display the below window.



Click “Send me an email with my Administrator Security Code”. An email with the Administrator Security Code will be sent to the email address you provided during the installation of the CA Parental Controls software.


3. Enter the “New Administrator Password”, confirm the same and click OK.
4. This will change/reset the Administrator Password for the CA Parental Controls software.
