Scanning for Viruses

It's good to run a complete system scan at least once a week for security maintenance on your computer.

1. Open CA Anti-Virus.
2. Click on Scan My Computer for Viruses if you want to scan all areas on your computer.
3. Note that: This will take any where between 15 minutes to 3 hours depending upon the performance and number of files on your computer.

Custom Scan:


• If you would like to scan only specific areas on the computer, click on Custom Scan on the CA Anti-Virus window.
• Select only those files, folders or locations you want to scan.
• Then click Scan.


4. Once the Scan is complete, you will see a list of infected files (if found) marked as cleaned or quarantined.
5. If an infection is not cleaned, but quarantined; then clear out the quarantined items too.
